+jailbirds by kristina bivona+
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so a book made of pictures must rival the literary density of a dictionary. The printmaker and book artist Kristina Bivona has woven a story into the very foundations of All Street’s East Village location with her solo exhibition, Jailbirds. An exercise in vulnerability and creative generosity, the exhibited works extend beyond the limitations of art and into the sphere of social practice. Jailbirds will be on view through Monday, October 30th, at 77 E 3rd St.

+by all means: figure drawing (10.3)+
The room was packed with an abundance of creative energy. Art was everywhere. After a couple false-starts, the playlist aligned with the frequencies of the room and rode the groove deep into the night. Pens oozed with experimentation as hands sought to carrell the flowing lines into shapes and figures. The vibes were truly impeccable. +by all means: yoga (10.9)+
It was an intimate affair on a sleepy Sunday afternoon. Coziness was afoot as the All Street yogis shared in a collective exhale and reached a state of pure unadulterated relaxation. Peaceful would be a gross understatement to describe the soul exercising that commenced with the guided meditation lead by All Street’s resident yoga extraordinaire, Maggie Weiler. To find your soul’s center and lose the weight of your body, join us on October 22nd at All Street’s 119 Hester Street location around noon.

+tuesday talks (10.10)+
Time. As an artist there’s never enough of it. But does time really exist? Or is it all a matter of perspective. Through the lens of Galician photographer Xan Padrón, time folds into itself to produce mind-bending street photography. So make some time tonight to come to All Street’s 119 Hester Street location at 7pm for the latest installation of Tuesday Talks!
+shapes of openness: ferrum by peter leone+
All Street’s going metal. Peter Leone may be the earthly reincarnation of Hephaestus himself; the way the sculptor manipulates iron into flowing designs and shapes is truly godlike. These aren't your grandmother's oil landscapes. These are thunder, lightning, and the world's elements mixing together into an artistic big bang. The exhibition opens on Monday, October 16th, and will be on view until Friday, October 20th. Swing by 119 Hester Street to enter the forge.

+a void to fill by a writer+
he falls in love too easy you wouldn’t expect it from his calm exterior but he hates himself so whenever someone displays any form of kindness it feels like a little miracle he has to repay the self hatred is inherited he comes from a long line of broken men love (sex) makes it better momentarily at least to keep the love he clings to he must be exceptional if not they’ll see the void and he’ll be alone.

You: a sight to behold
Me: an unworthy witness
Description:
I saw you through the plexi and was captivated by your aura. At first you were but a ghostly shadow distorted by the warped translucent sheets suspended in air. As you came into focus I saw the truth, I’d never be good enough for you.
+figure drawing 10.3+
You: are a “real” artist and made sure everyone knew it
Me: unimpressed but secretly obsessed
Description:
I wish someone looked at me the way you looked at your own art.
+yoga 10.8+
You: a suave swan
Me: a tumbling duckling
Description:
If our mats were vessels, you surfed above the waves, barely grazing the water as your body contorted and aligned in divine shapes. The sacred geometry of your figure served as a north star as my fledgling raft took on more water every time I toppled over in defeat from the poses you so effortlessly flowed between.
horoscopes
+Aries+
Without night, day would just be the constant state of being. Therefore, day doesn’t exist without night. Similarly, without hate, love would simply be a constant. So in order to end hate, we must also destroy love. Think about it.
+Taurus+
Stop listening to your brain and start following your heart.
+Gemini+
Next time you see two pigeons flying above you, immediately stop and make an offering to cupid, the great infant patriarch of love. This offering can be in the form of whispering sweet nothings to the wind or –– for faster results –– chase the pigeons while flailing your arms over your head and wailing like a baby, the native tongue of the magnificent cupid, for 14 seconds.
+Cancer+
Some say love is a chemical reaction, others say it is an intangible connection of the soul, but we’re still going to die either way so what does it really matter?
+Leo+
You’re everyone's type. Remember that next time they try you.
+Virgo+
Real love isn’t smooth, rounded, or symmetrical like the heart shape that adorns boxes of Valentine’s cards. Real love is grotesque, bumpy, and can stop beating at any moment just like a real heart. So stop seeking perfection and remember what your heart really looks like.
+Libra+
Choices are like directions. You can always go right but you can never go wrong.
+Scorpio+
If they don’t text back within less than three milliseconds, they hate you and are probably cheating with your best friend right at this very moment.
+Sagittarius+
If they don’t buy you flowers, then order yourself the biggest bouquet at the bodega and laugh maniacally in front of your partner as you read the little card you’ve forged. Rather than asking for what you want, it’s always better to rely on manipulation.
+Capricorn+
There is only one way to combat jealousy and that is with revenge. Leave them jealous with jealousy, but remember, never fight fire with fire in a glass house because thrown stones will leave the one-eyed-man a king and we only play if it’s an eye for an eye.
+Aquarius+
Would you rather be regretful or successful? Money comes and goes and so does love. So what are you willing to live without? But an even better question is: why are they mutually exclusive?
+Pisces+
You know that person you’ve been waiting for all your life? They don't exist.
